PROMOTING EXPORTS FROM NORTHERN FINLAND IN THE BARENTS REGION

Pursued by the Oulu Chamber of Commerce, the project "Promoting Exports from Northern Finland in the Barents Region" is part of the Euregio Karelia Neigbourhood Programme and due for implementation in 2006-2007. 

The aim of the project is to:

• Help companies set up networks and make up a whole that is sufficiently large in order to participate in competitive bidding and contracts opening up in Northwest Russia.
• Establish a company network that in addition to direct export operations is capable of offering its services to energy and building projects, servicing and maintenance work and the building of different types of infrastructure.
• Launch subcontracting cooperation and production operations in Northwest  Russia. 
• Set up an action model for companies for entering the market in the Barents Region. 
• Improve the awareness of Russian companies of the operating opportunities available to Finnish companies.
