Nordic Council of Ministers to Support Social Projects
The Nordic Council of Ministers will support social projects at the North-West of Russia. According to the Regnum Information Agency reporter, it was announced at the seminar “Social Welfare” that took place in St. Petersburg on September 13, 2004.
The new program offers financial support to government agencies, public associations, Mass Media, research and educational institutions of Russia’s North-West. The social projects to be supported by the Council should meet certain requirements. In particular, the project should be based on interaction between several organizations. An essential requirement is to include a gender component in the program.
The project is supposed to have an exact effect and imply the improving of
living conditions of target groups. Besides, it should be jointly financed: at
least one fifth of the project cost is to be covered by the party that submits
the project. The Nordic Council of Ministers won’t finance infrastructure items,
namely salary, equipment, rent, repairs, acquisition of premises.
